April 2025 Prayer Calendar
Pray for French-speaking West Africa

April 2025 |
Dear Prayer Partner,
Prayer Changes Things!
The disciples spent 3 years walking and talking with Jesus and with all the things they witnessed, I find it fascinating that they asked Him in Luke 11, “Lord, teach us to pray”.
May we continue to be people of prayer!
Through April, our prayers are centered on the French-speaking West Africa region.
Our Global Disciples work in that region includes training programs in 11 nations: Chad, Niger, Mali, Burkina Faso, Togo, Benin, Senegal, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Cote d’Ivoire, and Sudan.
Perhaps this month you could ask God to burden your heart for one or more of these nations and as you pray through the prayer calendar, intercede on behalf of these people.
These nations are home to approximately 225 million people, with 65% considered least-reached and 477 least-reached people groups—plenty of opportunities for sharing the Good News of Jesus. Islam is the dominant religion, but ethnic religions are also common.
Every day, our brothers and sisters in French-speaking West Africa face violence and unrest.
Jihadist groups are occupying more territory, prompting terrorist attacks that have harmed hundreds of people. Many Western missionaries have had to leave due to threats of violence. Locally trained church planters and pastors are more essential than ever to advance the Good News of Jesus in this region.
Your prayers are desperately needed!
Our regional staff is headed by Gabriel, Head Facilitator, and Tahir, who carries a dual role as Regional Coordinator and Sub-continental Vice President. They oversee seven Facilitators. Noam serves as Admin Assistant and Data Manager, and Celine leads the work of prayer.
They serve 62 groups of churches and 144 active training programs. Last year alone, 759 trained disciple-makers planted 210 new churches, with 891 new worshippers and disciples of Jesus! We praise God for this amazing impact in this very challenging region.
As always, I’m deeply moved by your heart for the Kingdom and your investment in prayer. Your support is so appreciated.
Let’s get passionate about prayer!
Until the whole world knows,

Andre Lesur
Executive Director, Global Disciples Canada
P.S. Join us online on Monday, April 14 @ 6 pm PDT for our Zoom Prayer Call. I’d love to see you there!
Ending a Century of DarknessIn the early 1900s, a region of Chad was so devastated by a tribal ruler that upon his death, the people decided to take action. To ensure no one would ever be able to attack their homeland again, they chose to “fortify” the area with black magic and rituals, burying talismans and charms, and casting spells. For 100 years, no outsiders ever managed to settle in the area or achieve anything tangible. |
