Pray for Tanzania
February 2025 |
Dear Prayer Partner,
This February, our prayers are focused on Tanzania, a country in East Africa within the African Great Lakes region. This populous nation has more than 69 million people, and 9% are considered least-reached. There are 24 least-reached groups, mostly along the coast and the islands of Zanzibar, Pemba, and Mafia.
Haki leads our team of five Facilitators in this region and is supported by Julia, our Regional Admin Data Manager. Together, they serve 38 groups of churches and 101 active training programs. Last year, 315 trained disciple-makers planted 148 new churches, with 1,874 new worshippers and disciples of Jesus. Praise God!
At a recent staff gathering with our Africa team, our Global Prayer Leader, Barry Stoner, received a last-minute visit from two of our Tanzanian Facilitators. He heard a sense of desperation in their voices as they talked. “Would you please pray for a breakthrough in our region? We want to see God move.”
Their deep longing for truth and deliverance moves me greatly. I truly believe that God responds to that kind of heart cry. Please join me in faith and pray for God to bless this region in a new and miraculous way in 2025.
Thank you so much for your continued investment in prayer. Your spiritual support blesses us and the work of our staff in Tanzania!
Until the whole world knows,

Andre Lesur
Executive Director, Global Disciples Canada
P.S. Have you ever considered hosting an “Around the Table” event? These fun, small home group gatherings, where I come and share stories from around the world, help us share what Global Disciples is doing in a more personal way. Please email our team at [email protected] for more details!
A Mother On MissionAs Global Disciples, we hear stories of mothers who are part of what God is doing to birth, nurture, and raise His children of faith. Sarah is one of those mothers on a mission. She came to Christ as a teenager in Tanzania. She pursued her walk with Jesus as she matured. Then, she married a young pastor, and they were blessed with several children. Together they planted churches along the coast, in a challenging Muslim region. Finances were difficult, and during a tough time, Sarah’s husband declared that he had not experienced “the blessing of God” since they married. Then he left her and their children. |
