Pray for Brazil

Dear Prayer Partner,

When people ask me, how do I get involved with Global Disciples?, my first response is always…would you pray for the least-reached?

Your Prayers matter, and it’s powerful when the body of Christ prays in unity.

This month, would you join me in praying for our team and their work in Brazil.

This stunning nation, filled with abundant natural resources, is home to approximately 217 million people, with an estimated 50 people groups considered least-reached. Many are small indigenous groups in the Amazon jungle.

Though 90% of the country may be considered Christian (70% Catholic, and a strong evangelical presence), many people are caught up in addiction and idolatry. Opportunities abound for healing, deliverance, and sharing the Good News of Jesus.

Our Latin America staff is headed by Gerardo our Regional Coordinator, Ana our Admin Assistant and Data Manager, and Rosa our prayer leader. Biro, Isaiah, Haziel, and Caio are the Global Disciples training Facilitators in Brazil. This team works tirelessly to serve the current 58 groups of churches and 78 active training programs there.

Last year alone, 180 trained disciple-makers were trained and 60 new church fellowships were planted, home to 428 new disciples of Jesus. And because of our Small Business Development training, 22 new businesses started to aid in church planting!

Can we take some time to do a happy dance and give God some praise! How amazing is that! 428 new Jesus followers.

Your prayers are so appreciated. I am honored that you share our love for prayer and our desire to see people come to the saving power of Jesus in these unreached parts of our world.

Until the whole world knows,

Andre Lesur
Executive Director, Global Disciples Canada

P.S. Our year-end appeal will be hitting your inboxes in the next few weeks! it includes an incredible testimony from my recent trip to Central Asia - it would mean so much to me if you read the letter and prayerfully considered how you could partner financially with us.

Finding Calling and Ministry

Stefan was struggling. “I was in crisis with myself,” he said. “I simply could not fit in very well in the church. At times, I participated in groups and went to church regularly, but I didn’t feel connected or useful.” Then Stefan’s pastor stepped in. He also directs a discipleship-mission training in Brazil, launched with the help of Global Disciples. And he challenged young Stefan to join the training.
