May Appeal - Our God is Stronger
Dear Prayer Partner,
Deep in the forests of rural Malawi, where there are no cell phone signals and the roads are pot-holed pathways, Philip and his small discipleship team followed God’s call. There, they met a community bound by fear — people who believed the ancestral spirit, M’bona, held the power of life and death.
When the villagers warned that their spirit was stronger than God, Philip stood firm.
“Our God is stronger,” he told them.
For several weeks they shared the words of Jesus, offering people freedom from the fear of M’bona. They prayed and the sick were healed. The people were curious. Is this God really stronger than M’bona?
As God’s Spirit moved among the people, 72 people gave their lives to Jesus, 8 were baptized, and 2 new churches were planted.
Once more, I am amazed at the power of God’s love.
But our work is far from done!
Your gift, whether $50 or $5,000 helps train disciple-makers. |
As this year ends, Global Disciples Canada has a bold vision: to train disciple makers to reach 500 men and women in places untouched by the gospel.
It’s a $100,000 step of faith. But we know “the One who calls us is faithful, and He will do it” (1 Thessalonians 5:24).
Your gift today trains and equips more men and women like Philip to go to remote and hard-to-reach regions of the world. This includes areas of restricted access, where Christians are often threatened and imprisoned.
Until the whole world knows,
Andre Lesur
