Pray for North Africa & the Middle East
November 2024 |
Dear Prayer Partner,
This November, we’re focusing our prayer requests on the restricted areas of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). MENA is home to approximately 500 million people; about 90% adhere to Islam. The demographics reveal a highly populated, culturally diverse region from Morocco in the west to Iran in the east, touching three different continents.
On a prayer trip with Global Disciples to Morocco, our Global Prayer Leader, Barry Stoner, met a few Christian leaders from several North African countries. He distinctly remembers one of these leaders who, when buying gifts for his young daughters, made a point to ask another brother to make sure his daughters would get the gifts—if he didn’t make it home. Witnessing this interaction drove home the reality of the extreme risks and challenges Christ–followers encounter there.
Like veins of water through the arid landscape of this region, we believe that Jesus, the Living Water, will become known in what is currently a spiritual desert. And I’m so glad to share that this has already begun. Iran is now home to the fastest growing movement to Jesus in the world!
Our ministry here started with one brother, a former Muslim, who was introduced to Jesus miraculously. Ten years later, we now have strong connections with key leaders throughout this region. We praise God for Tulu as he provides oversight to this work. Please pray that God would continue to strengthen strategic relationships and open doors for new ones.
Thank you for praying throughout this month for a great harvest in MENA.
Truly grateful,

Andre Lesur

Courage to Share the GospelWhile only about 56 percent of Chadians claim to be Muslim, Islam is the dominant influence in government and trade. And of the 148 people groups in Chad, nearly two-thirds of them are unreached with the Gospel. But God has brought multiplication, good local leadership, and opportunities to reach the least-reached. Recently, the training directors in this region got together at an Annual Equipping Event and shared their stories. |
