Please Pray - A Pastor is in Jail right now
God is in Control
We finish this year in complete awe of what God has done and are incredibly grateful for the generosity of individuals like you, who carry a deep desire for Jesus’ Great Commission and a passion to give every person an opportunity to hear the gospel, many for the very first time.
We have presented our vision, needs, prayer requests, and stories, and you have responded beautifully.
Every gift has mattered. Every prayer has counted.
But today, we want to share why this work matters so urgently.
This past week, we received a message from one of the countries in Asia where we serve. On Sunday, during a Christmas gathering, a fanatical religious group stormed into a local church and shut down the service. Their aim was simple: to silence the good news of Jesus Christ.
In this country, intimidation, coercion, and violence are often used against pastors and new believers. The government is complicit in much of this harassment.
Just today, we received a video showing a pastor, we’ll call Andy*, boldly proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ right before he was taken away, and the video abruptly ended.
Andy*, his wife, and their two young sons are now in jail, awaiting a hearing where they will plead their innocence.
I share this not to shock or exploit this situation, but to invite you into the weight and reality our brothers and sisters carry every day. This is the cost of following Jesus in many parts of the world.
Would you please pray for Andy and his family?
Pray for courage. For protection. For justice. For their safe release. And pray for the Church in that nation to remain faithful and bold.
Billions of people still haven’t heard the truth about Jesus.
Because of the generosity of people just like you, Global Disciples is actively working in over 70 countries, many of them hostile to Christianity.
As we approach the final days of the year, December 30 and 31 are especially significant for us. If you haven’t yet had the opportunity to give, would you consider helping us finish 2025 strong? Your gift fuels Gospel witness in places where it comes at great cost.
More than anything, thank you for standing with us in prayer, in generosity, and in faith.
