Ruth’s life was threatened. Here’s why she stayed

Dear Friend,

On November 21st, gunmen surrounded and abducted over 300 children and staff from a Catholic school in Nigeria. Peace is a precarious commodity in a nation where deep chasms between faith groups, cultures, and political regions trigger conflict and violence.

The Fulani people are a powerful political and cultural force in Nigeria—passionately committed to their Muslim faith and way of life. In this intersection of tensions, God is calling Nigerian Christians to go and share the story of Jesus.

Ruth is one of those courageous disciple-makers

Trained through a local Global Disciples partner, the Lord gave Ruth the name of a village she had never even heard of. She traveled a long distance to find this remote settlement in northeast Nigeria—a place where no one could read and 98% of the people were Muslim.

Within days of her arrival, 12 people put their faith in Jesus.

But the cost was immediate. One woman was divorced and abandoned by her husband for her faith. Others were marked to be killed. The local community even threatened to kill Ruth and her team if the new believers weren't returned.

Despite these threats, Ruth trusts God for her safety. She knows that the only way to reach the unreached is by living among the people, taking the risk, and sharing the love of Jesus in everyday life.

Your gift of $200 trains a disciple-maker and provides the resources needed to bring one person to faith. And then the multiplication begins!

We are seeing God work miracles in places we never anticipated!

Your gift encourages, equips, and supports courageous women and men like Ruth to follow God’s call into unmarked territory.

Until the Whole World Knows,
