September 2024 Prayer Calendar

Dear Prayer Partner,

Through September, we focus our prayer on our Southeast Africa region, which includes Mozambique, Zimbabwe, and Malawi.

This Global Disciples region is home to approximately 73 million people and about 10% are considered least-reached. The largest number is found in northern Mozambique and central Malawi. Primarily, they are adherents to Islam and ethnic religions.

Our Global Prayer Leader, Barry Sloner, was struck by the natural and spiritual challenges of working in this region when he arrived in Mozambique for a training event. He recalls a day when it was over 100 degrees. Suddenly, the air conditioners (individual units) all began blowing hot air. A staff leader went to pick up supplies and his vehicle broke down. A prayer leader sat on her bed, and it broke. Meals were all delayed, and many things just went wrong. Late in the evening, the on-site prayer team gathered to seek God for a shift in the spiritual atmosphere. Although the air was still that day, with no breeze, the team miraculously felt a breeze kicking up. The leaves began to dance, and the team sensed a spiritual shift. The next day, the air conditioners blew cool air, the meals were on time, and they experienced no more problems. Praise God for breakthrough!

As you pray, please remember our staff on the ground. Niko has been newly appointed as Regional Coordinator, Lulu serves as our Regional Prayer Leader and Debra is our Data Manager/Admin Assistant. Along with eight Facilitators, they serve 111 groups of churches and 182 training programs.

Last year alone, they planted 27 new churches, and 688 new disciples were made!
